With continued sequestration fears the DIA has cancelled their 2013 Defense Intelligence Worldwide, previously known as DoDIIS. At least it’s better than laying off contractors or furloughing civilian govies.
Last month we discovered that the popular DC3 conference had been temporarily postponed due to the uncertainty of budgets pending the outcome of sequestration talks. Well … another local con just got axed. This one, the Defense Intelligence Worldwide or DoDIIS, was being sponsored by the Defense Intelligence Agency and being held in Baltimore, MD.
It is a sad to see events like this being cancelled however we would rather see actions like this rather than contractor employees getting layed off or civilian govies furloughed. Expect to see more announcements like this over 2013 unless our government can come to a reasonable agreement.

Effective Monday, March 4, 2013. Due to the fiscal challenges and uncertainty facing the federal government and the Department of Defense, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has decided that the upcoming Defense Intelligence Worldwide will not take place April 8–10, 2013 in Baltimore, MD as scheduled. The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and National Conference Services, Inc. (NCSI) thank you for your continued support of both the DIA mission and the Defense Intelligence Worldwide (formerly the DoDIIS Worldwide Conference).
