We found this news very interesting… Apparently organizers have temporarily postponed the popular DC3 conference due to the uncertainty of budgets because of the upcoming federal budget ‘sequester’ deadline on March 1st. And no … it isn’t cancelled as some have reported.
Look … this whole sequestration thing is just going to get postponed again … probably two or three more times we imagine. In this end the continued anxiety caused by budget uncertainty is going to have a huge impact on what get’s accomplished this year. And unfortunately, this will have a major impact on “cyber” as well.
Here’s the official announcement from DoDCyberCrime.com.
Based on DoD’s budgetary uncertainty, The Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) has been given direction to reduce the government expenditure rate. Therefore, DC3 and Technology Forums have reluctantly come to the decision that we will not be holding our annual DoD Cyber Crime Conference in 2013. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate everyone’s efforts and support.
