NovaInfosecPortal is currently searching for a local person who is interested in helping run our site. Duties would include writing regular blog posts, keeping pages up to date, and general security research. Not only is this a great way to help your fellow NoVA infosec professionals out but it also provides a great security experience that you can add to your resume to help you land that first security job or take you to the next level.
While the intern position is unpaid, it is the ideal opportunity for someone who wants to be mentored by a seasoned infosec professional and would like to have the opportunity to network with other computer security professionals in the NoVA, DC, and MD areas. Additionally, all blog posts will be credited to you … so it’s a great way to get your name out there.
Time commitment is between 5-10 hours a week and while there are firm deadlines for assignments, almost all of the work can be completed virtually. The part-time nature of this position allows the candidate to carry on a regular job or classes while still gaining valuable on-the-job experiences.
To apply use the Contact Us link above. Enter your Name, Email, and “Infosec Intern Position” as the Subject (note: following directions counts here). In the Message area please write why you want the position in approximately 100 words.
