Tomorrow’s ISSA – NoVA Chapter meetup will cover a topic that is long overdue: The increasing shift toward security becoming one profession/position, including the move to a single risk manager.
With the economy being as it is, the likelihood of this occurring has increased significantly. Companies would like to consolidate positions wherever they can, and it seems that many feel like security is a ‘catch all’ position.
While there wasn’t much information provided by ISSA – NoVA about which stance speaker Patricia Edfors would take on the issue (though they did say she would address the pros and cons), it looks like an interesting—and timely—meetup.
