ISSA – NoVA Chapter Infosec Meetup Event – Thursday, 6/19: The CSIS Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency

Here is some information regarding this week’s Thursday ISSA – NoVA Chapter infosec meetup event. The presenter is Marcus Sachs, who I had once as a SANS instructor. It’ll be interesting to hear what he has to say on this topic.

  • Who: Mr. Marcus Sachs PE
  • What: The CSIS Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency
    • The CSIS Cyber Security Commission’s goal is to recommend actions to a new administration that will improve U.S. cybersecurity. The first phase of the Commission’s work (November 2007-February 2008) will map the landscape for cybersecurity in the U.S., review previous efforts, and identify key issues  The second phase (February 2008-August 2008) will prioritize cybersecurity issues by importance and by the Federal government’s ability to successfully address them. This prioritization will lead to four to five recommendations for action for the next administration to consider. The final phase (September 2008-November 2008) will refine recommendations and the Commission’s report.
